The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has declared the BPSC 71st Mains Result 2026 on 6 November 2026. A total of 3,392 candidates have qualified for the interview round against 1,298 advertised posts under the Integrated 71st Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2025. The result is available on the official website, bpsc.bihar.gov.in, both as a merit-list PDF and through the candidate login portal — and this article explains which one you should open first, because the two lists are not the same document.

BPSC 71st Mains Result 2026: Overview

3,392 Qualified: What the Numbers Actually Mean

The headline figure hides a useful reality check. Of the 11,125 candidates who sat the Mains examination in Patna, only about 3 in 10 made it to the interview list — and those 3,392 are now competing for 1,298 posts. That is roughly 2.6 interview candidates per vacancy, which means the interview is a genuine elimination round, not a formality. Candidates who qualified should treat the coming weeks as preparation time, not a waiting period.

The vacancy break-up behind the 1,298 posts is also worth knowing: 1,171 posts under various services of the 71st CCE, 79 posts of Finance Administrative Officer and equivalent, 14 posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), and 34 posts added later to the advertisement. The DSP posts, though few in number, are the most sought-after in the list — and they sit inside the same CCE merit list, not a separate one.

How to Check the BPSC 71st Mains Result 2026

There are two ways to verify your result, and using both takes less than two minutes:

1. Visit the official BPSC website at bpsc.bihar.gov.in and open the Results section on the homepage.
2. Look for the 71st CCE Mains Result 2026 link and open the official merit-list PDF. Use the PDF search function (Ctrl+F) to find your roll number.
3. Alternatively, log in through the candidate portal at bpsconline.bihar.gov.in with your Application Number, Password and Security Pin to view your individual result.
4. Download and save the PDF, and keep a printout for the interview stage.

The direct link to the official result PDF is given in the Important Links table at the end of this article. Use only the official website and the official candidate portal for login — never enter your application number and password on any third-party result-checking site.

Interview: What Happens Next

Qualifying the Mains does not mean selection. The Commission has said the interview schedule for both the 71st CCE and the FAO examinations will be announced separately, so no interview date is confirmed yet. Candidates should keep their original documents ready — educational certificates, caste or reservation certificates where applicable, and identity proof — because document verification runs alongside the interview process.

One caution the Commission itself has flagged: the published results may be revised if any clerical or typing errors are found. That is a standard BPSC disclaimer, but it carries a practical message — if your roll number appears in the list, note it down and keep checking the official website for any corrigendum, and if a detail looks wrong, do not assume it will correct itself.
