Delhi’s district courts are hiring in bulk — and the application window opens today at 12:00 noon. The Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) has released Advertisement No. 04/2026 for its Combined Examination 2026, covering 641 posts across the District & Sessions Courts and the Family Courts of Delhi. The posts range from Senior Personal Assistant and Personal Assistant (stenographer-grade) to Junior Judicial Assistant, Process Server and Peon — so there is something here for graduates, 12th-pass candidates and even matriculate applicants.
The notification itself came out on 30 September 2026, but the online form goes live only today, 6 October 2026 at noon, and stays open till 4 November 2026, 11:00 PM. If you are planning to apply, do not wait for the last week — DSSSB’s portal slows to a crawl in the final days of every major recruitment, and the fee payment step (SBI e-pay only) is exactly where stuck transactions happen.
• Notification released: 30 September 2026
• Online applications open: 6 October 2026, 12:00 noon
• Last date to apply: 4 November 2026, 11:00 PM
• Age reckoning date: 1 June 2026 (note: not 1 January — see below)
• Exam date: to be announced on dsssb.delhi.gov.in
DSSSB 641 Vacancy Breakup — Post by Post
The 641 vacancies are tentative and include backlog posts. They are spread across five post codes:
| Post Code | Post Name | Courts | Posts | Pay Level |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 805/26 | Senior Personal Assistant | District & Sessions Courts | 27 | Level 8 |
| 805/26 | Personal Assistant | District & Sessions Courts | 189 | Level 7 |
| 805/26 | Personal Assistant | Family Courts | 17 | Level 7 |
| 806/26 | Junior Judicial Assistant | District & Sessions Courts | 151 | Level 5 |
| 806/26 | Junior Judicial Assistant | Family Courts | 23 | Level 5 |
| 807/26 | Process Server | District & Sessions Courts | 91 | Level 4 |
| 807/26 | Process Server | Family Courts | 1 | Level 4 |
| 808/26 | Peon / Orderly / Dak Peon | District & Sessions Courts | 139 | Level 3 |
| 808/26 | Peon / Orderly / Dak Peon | Family Courts | 3 | Level 3 |
| Total | 641 | |||
Two things to read carefully here. First, one post code can cover two departments — 805/26 is both Senior PA and PA, and the Family Courts have their own smaller quotas inside the same code. When you fill the form, you must select the exact post and department combination; picking “805/26” alone is not enough. Second, 54 PwBD and 41 ex-serviceman vacancies are included in the 641, not extra.
Who Can Apply — Eligibility for Each Post
- Senior Personal Assistant (27 posts): bachelor’s degree, shorthand speed of at least 110 words per minute and typing speed of 40 w.p.m.
- Personal Assistant (206 posts): bachelor’s degree, shorthand speed of 100 w.p.m., typing speed of 40 w.p.m. and working computer knowledge.
- Junior Judicial Assistant (174 posts): bachelor’s degree with computer typing speed of at least 40 w.p.m.
- Process Server (92 posts): matriculation (or equivalent) or higher secondary, plus a valid LMV driving licence and two years of unblemished driving experience.
- Peon / Orderly / Dak Peon (142 posts): matriculation or equivalent from a recognized board.
The Process Server requirement catches people out every time: it is not enough to be 10th-pass — without the LMV licence and the two-year driving record, the application will not survive document verification. And on the steno side, be honest with yourself about the speeds: 100–110 w.p.m. shorthand is professional-court-reporter territory, tested in a proper skill test. If you have never done shorthand, the Junior Judicial Assistant or Peon posts are the realistic targets.
Three Details Applicants Usually Miss
2. The fee is small but the payment mode is strict. The application fee is Rs. 100, and it can be paid only through SBI e-pay — no UPI app, no other gateway. Women candidates and SC, ST, PwBD and ex-serviceman candidates are fully exempt. The fee is non-refundable, so confirm your eligibility before paying.
3. Your qualifications are judged as on the closing date. The notification fixes the cut-off for qualifications, experience and certificates at 4 November 2026 (the last date). If your degree result or driving-licence two-year mark lands after that date, you do not qualify for this round.
Selection Process
DSSSB will run a Tier-I exam, Tier-II exam, skill test and interview. The skill test is the real filter for the stenographer posts (Senior PA and PA) — shorthand and typing speeds are tested live, and candidates who clear the written papers but miss the speed bar go no further. For Junior Judicial Assistant, the 40 w.p.m. typing test plays the same gatekeeper role. The Peon and Process Server posts follow the written stages. Exact exam dates will be announced later on the DSSSB and Delhi District Courts websites.
How to Apply Online
- Wait for the application link to go live at 12:00 noon today (6 October 2026) — if it is not visible at 12:01, give it some time rather than refreshing endlessly.
- First read the official notification (Advt. No. 04/2026) end to end and note your exact post code + department combination.
- Register on the DSSSB online portal with a working mobile number and email ID — all admit cards and updates come through these.
- Fill the form carefully: personal details, educational qualifications, category, and the correct post code. Upload photo, signature and certificates in the prescribed size and format.
- Pay Rs. 100 via SBI e-pay (if you are not in an exempt category), submit well before 4 November 2026, 11:00 PM, and save the final submitted application PDF plus the payment receipt.
- Keep your registration number safe — you will need it for the admit card, which DSSSB releases a couple of weeks before the exam.
FAQs — DSSSB Delhi Courts Recruitment 2026
Q1. When do applications open and close for DSSSB 641 court posts?
Online applications open on 6 October 2026 at 12:00 noon and close on 4 November 2026 at 11:00 PM. The mode is online only — no offline or by-post applications.
Q2. I have only passed 10th. Which posts can I apply for?
Peon / Orderly / Dak Peon needs only matriculation (142 posts). Process Server also starts at matriculation but additionally requires an LMV driving licence with two years of unblemished driving experience.
Q3. What is the age limit?
18 to 27 years as on 1 June 2026 (born between 02-06-1999 and 01-06-2008), with the usual relaxations for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), PwBD (10–15 years) and ex-servicemen.
Q4. What is the application fee, and who is exempt?
Rs. 100 for all others, payable only through SBI e-pay. Women, SC, ST, PwBD and ex-serviceman candidates pay nothing. The fee is non-refundable.
Q5. Is there a skill test, or only a written exam?
Both. The selection includes Tier-I and Tier-II written exams plus a skill test and interview. The skill test (shorthand/typing speed) is decisive for the Senior PA, PA and Junior Judicial Assistant posts.
Q6. Where will selected candidates be posted?
In the District & Sessions Courts or the Family Courts of Delhi, as per the department quota of the post applied for.

These are Delhi government court posts with 7th CPC pay levels (Level 3 to Level 8), so even the Peon post carries a proper government pay scale. The vacancies are marked tentative and include backlog posts, which means the final count can shift slightly. Read the official notification PDF linked above before applying — particularly the post-code/department selection and the certificate formats — because DSSSB rejects wrongly-filled applications at the document stage without a second chance.
