MPPGCL ITI Apprentice Recruitment 2026: 29 Posts at Amarkantak Thermal Power Station, Apply Online by 20 November

Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited (MPPGCL) has opened applications for 29 ITI Apprentice seats at its Amarkantak Thermal Power Station (ATPS), Chachai, in Anuppur district. The advertisement number is 001-01/TRAINING/451, dated 21 October 2026, and the last date to apply online is 20 November 2026. The apprenticeship runs for one year, with a monthly stipend of Rs. 9,600.

Before anything else, read this drive for what it actually is. This is an apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act, not a permanent MPPGCL job — the training lasts one year and there is no guarantee of employment afterwards. If you are an ITI holder looking for a year of paid, hands-on training inside a working thermal power station, that is exactly what is on offer. If you were expecting a regular appointment with a pay scale, this is not that notification, and applying under that impression only wastes your one shot at the form.

Important dates: Online applications close on 20 November 2026. The age limit is calculated as on 20 November 2026 as well, so check your age against that date, not against the date you happen to fill the form. Applications go through the national apprenticeship portal, apprenticeshipindia.gov.in, by searching for the Amarkantak Thermal Power Station, Chachai establishment — the steps are given below.

MPPGCL ITI Apprentice Vacancy Details 2026

All 29 seats are ITI trades, and Electrician alone takes 10 of them — more than a third of the intake. Fitter is next with 8 seats. The remaining trades are small, with 2 to 3 seats each, which matters for the merit list: in a 2-seat trade like COPA, even a small difference in ITI percentage can decide the cut-off.

Trade Posts Qualification Stipend per Month
Electrician 10 ITI pass in Electrician trade Rs. 9,600
Fitter 8 ITI pass in Fitter trade Rs. 9,600
Turner 3 ITI pass in Turner trade Rs. 9,600
Welder 3 ITI pass in Welder trade Rs. 9,600
Motor Mechanic 3 ITI pass in Motor Mechanic trade Rs. 9,600
COPA 2 ITI pass in COPA trade Rs. 9,600
Total 29 —

The stipend is the same Rs. 9,600 a month for every trade, and the training period is one year for all of them. For the trade-wise reservation break-up, check the official notification linked below before applying, since that is the document the merit list will actually follow.

Who Can Apply: The Madhya Pradesh Domicile Gate

The headline eligibility is simple — ITI pass in the relevant trade, aged between 18 and 25 years for the General category as on 20 November 2026. Age relaxation is 5 years for SC, ST and OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates and 10 years for Divyang candidates. But the condition that will actually filter the applicant pool is domicile: only permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh are eligible, and preference is given to residents of Anuppur, Shahdol, Umaria, Katni and Jabalpur districts.

That preference is worth taking seriously. Amarkantak Thermal Power Station sits in Anuppur, and the preferred districts are the ones around it. An ITI holder from elsewhere in Madhya Pradesh is not barred, but in a merit-based shortlist with a stated local preference, a candidate from one of those five districts with the same marks is the safer bet. If you are from outside Madhya Pradesh entirely, this notification is not for you — do not spend time on the form.

The Bar Most Applicants Miss: No Previous Apprenticeship

Candidates who have previously registered for or undergone an apprenticeship in any establishment, or who have worked for more than one year, cannot apply. This is the single most common reason ITI apprenticeship applications get rejected at verification, because many candidates have already done a short stint somewhere and assume it does not count. It does. If you have already completed an apprenticeship anywhere, or you have more than a year of work behind you, check the exact wording in the official notification before you apply — a form submitted in this category will not survive document verification even if your ITI marks are strong.

Selection: No Exam — Your ITI Marks Are the Whole Game

There is no written test in this drive. Shortlisting is done on the basis of ITI aggregate marks — the semester average percentage — followed by document verification, and the final merit list is drawn on the percentage of total marks obtained in ITI. That has two practical consequences. First, enter your marks exactly as they appear on your mark sheets; a rounded-up percentage is exactly the kind of mismatch verification catches. Second, if your ITI marks are middling, this is not a drive where a good exam performance can rescue you — the merit list is the marks list, so apply with that expectation set.

Do not miss the insurance condition. Selected candidates must hold an accident insurance policy of at least Rs. 1 lakh. It is a small detail buried in the conditions, but it is a requirement, not a suggestion — arrange it before joining rather than discovering it at verification. Keep ready as well: certificate of medical fitness, caste certificate if applicable, Divyang certificate if applicable, Aadhaar card and bank details.

How to Apply Online for MPPGCL ITI Apprentice 2026

Step 1 — Register as a candidate on apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. Choose “Register As Candidate” and fill in your personal, contact and qualification details. Upload your photograph, date of birth proof and signature as asked on the portal.

Step 2 — Find the right establishment. Search for the establishment as “Amarkantak Thermal Power Station, Chachai, District Anuppur” and apply against it according to your trade qualification. Applying under the wrong establishment is a wasted application, so check the name and district before submitting.

Step 3 — Submit before 20 November 2026. Complete the application on or before the last date. Keep a copy of the submitted form and your portal registration details safe — you will need them at document verification, and the merit list is prepared from the details you entered.
