Important Dates

Event Date

Admit Card Release 20 October 2026 (released)
Written Examination 25 October 2026

How to Download the PSSSB Group D Hall Ticket 2026

Once the link is activated, downloading takes about two minutes. Keep your application number and date of birth handy before you start.

  1. Go to the official PSSSB website: sssb.punjab.gov.in.
  2. Open the Latest Announcements or Admit Card section.
  3. Look for the Group D Admit Card 2026 notice under Advertisement No. 04/2026.
  4. Click the hall ticket download link.
  5. Enter your application number and date of birth (plus any captcha/verification shown).
  6. Submit, open the admit card, and verify every detail on it.
  7. Download and print a clear copy — carry the printout to the examination centre.
Applied in the reopened window? PSSSB reopened applications from 17 to 21 September 2026, well after the original February notification. If you applied in that September window, your admit card will come through the same portal and the same steps — the Board does not issue separate hall tickets for reopened-window applicants. The only thing that matters is that your application was submitted successfully before the window closed.

What to Check on Your Admit Card

Do not just print it and file it away. The moment the hall ticket appears, verify these details against your application:

  • Candidate’s name, father’s name and mother’s name
  • Application number / roll number and date of birth
  • Category and sub-category
  • Photograph and signature
  • Examination date, reporting time and shift
  • Examination centre name and full address
  • Important examination-day instructions printed at the bottom

If anything is wrong — a misspelt name, the wrong photograph, or a centre that looks implausible — contact the Board through its official channels before the exam. Corrections on 25 October itself will not be possible.

Documents to Carry on 25 October

  • Printed copy of the PSSSB Group D Admit Card 2026
  • An original, valid photo identity proof (Aadhaar card, voter ID, driving licence, PAN card or passport)
  • Any additional document or photograph the admit card instructions ask for

Candidates without the hall ticket or the required ID may not be permitted inside the examination hall. Reach the centre well before the reporting time printed on the admit card, and read the instruction block on the hall ticket the night before — not on the way to the venue.

PSSSB Group D Exam Pattern 2026: Subject-Wise Marks

The written examination is an offline, objective-type paper of 100 questions carrying 100 marks. The published subject distribution is:

Subject Questions Marks
General Knowledge and Current Affairs 25 25
Logical Reasoning and Mental Ability 25 25
Punjabi Language 13 13
English Language 12 12
Punjab History and Culture 17 17
Information and Communication Technology 8 8
Total 100 100
The smart-preparation angle: Punjab-specific content carries real weight here — Punjabi Language (13 marks) plus Punjab History and Culture (17 marks) together make up 30 of the 100 marks. With the exam only days away, candidates who skipped the Punjab portion are leaving nearly a third of the paper unguarded. A quick revision of Punjab’s history, culture and basic Punjabi grammar is the highest-value use of the remaining days.

Selection Process After the Written Exam

Qualifying the written examination is only step one. PSSSB’s selection for these Group D posts runs in two stages:

  1. Written Examination (objective-type, 100 marks) — the merit list is drawn from this paper.
  2. Document Verification — shortlisted candidates produce their original certificates and eligibility documents.

Keep your matriculation certificate, caste/category certificate (if claimed), Punjab domicile proof and the application printout ready now rather than after the result — document verification lists are usually issued at short notice.
