The RRB Section Controller Admit Card 2026 is live, and the countdown has begun. The Railway Recruitment Boards released the e-call letter for CEN No. 03/2026 on 8 October 2026 — for the Section Controller post covering 119 vacancies. The Computer Based Test is on 12 and 13 October 2026, which means candidates have roughly three to four days between downloading the card and walking into the exam hall. If you applied under CEN 03/2026, download it today and verify every line on it.

This post walks you through the official download link and steps, the exam dates and shift timings, the full CBT exam pattern (including the negative-marking rule), the documents you must carry, the selection stages after the CBT — and one money detail most candidates don’t know about: the application fee refund you can claim after appearing in the exam.

⏰ CBT begins on 12 October 2026. The admit card was released on 08/10/2026 and the exam runs on 12 and 13 October in two shifts each day. With this little time left, a wrong photograph, a misspelled name, or a wrong exam centre on your card leaves you almost no room to get it fixed. Download your hall ticket today and read it line by line — do not leave it for the night before.

Here is something worth knowing before you click around blindly: the admit card is available through the direct e-call letter link and also on the regional RRB websites — the same board you applied to. The example portal named on the source page is rrbcdg.gov.in (RRB Chandigarh), but you should use your own zone’s RRB website, the one that corresponds to the region you chose in your application.

On the homepage, look for the CEN 03/2026 section, then the link labelled E-Call Letter for Section Controller CBT. If the portal feels slow — and on release day it almost always does — wait and retry rather than hammering refresh, and make sure you are entering the correct registration number, password or date of birth exactly as in your application.

The City Intimation Slip Was Not the Admit Card

RRB had released the exam city intimation slip from 2 October 2026. That slip told you only two things: the city where your exam will be held, and the date of your CBT. The admit card released on 08/10/2026 is the actual entry pass — it carries your exact exam centre name and full address, shift timing, reporting time, gate closing time, roll number, and the printed exam-day instructions.

Every year, candidates arrive at the gate carrying only the city slip and are turned away. The slip will not get you in. The admit card, printed clearly, will.

How to Download the RRB Section Controller Hall Ticket 2026

  1. Go to the official website of your RRB region (for example, rrbcdg.gov.in for Chandigarh) or use the direct admit card download link below.
  2. Find the CEN 03/2026 section on the homepage.
  3. Click the link for downloading the E-Call Letter / Admit Card for the Section Controller CBT.
  4. Enter your registration number and your password or date of birth.
  5. Fill in the captcha code shown on the screen and click Login.
  6. Your admit card will appear on the screen. Check every detail carefully before downloading.
  7. Download the admit card and take clear colour printouts for exam day — keep a spare copy.

What to Verify on Your Admit Card — Line by Line

With the exam days away, a mismatch caught late can cost you the attempt. On your printout, verify:

  • Your name, photograph and signature — must match the application form. A wrong or blurry photo is the most common problem.
  • Registration number and roll number — note the roll number down separately on your phone.
  • Exam date and shift — the CBT runs on 12 and 13 October in two shifts; yours is printed only here.
  • Centre name and full address — new information versus the city slip. Look up the route today.
  • Reporting time and gate closing time — follow this, not the exam start time.
  • Candidate details — date of birth, parent’s name, category and gender.
  • The instructions printed on the card — they decide which ID proof and documents you carry. They override anything you read on social media.

If anything looks wrong, contact the concerned RRB as soon as possible — do not assume it will be fixed at the gate.

RRB Section Controller Exam Date and Shift Timings 2026

Shift Timing
Shift 1 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Shift 2 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM

Your shift is printed on your admit card. Reach the centre well before the reporting time printed there, and check the route in advance — a centre in an unfamiliar part of the city on a weekday morning is not something to figure out on exam day.

RRB Section Controller CBT Exam Pattern 2026

Section Questions Marks
Analytical and Mathematical Capability 60 60
Logical Capability 20 20
Mental Reasoning 20 20
Total 100 100

Exam duration is 120 minutes. There is negative marking: one-third of a mark is deducted for every wrong answer. Notice how heavily the paper leans on mathematics — 60 of the 100 questions test analytical and mathematical capability, so that is where your revision time earns the most. Qualifying marks for the CBT have not been officially announced in the sources reviewed; keep checking the official notification.

Selection Process — the CBT Is Only the First Gate

The Section Controller recruitment under CEN 03/2026 has four stages:

  1. Computer Based Test (CBT) — 12–13 October 2026
  2. Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) — only CBT qualifiers are called
  3. Document Verification
  4. Medical Examination

Note the distinction: the CBAT after the CBT is an aptitude test, not a repeat of the same paper. Selection is based on merit across these stages, so keep your documents — certificates, ID proofs, category/PwD documents — ready well before document verification begins. RRB Section Controller Vacancy 2026 — Category-wise

Category Vacancies
General (UR) 50
OBC 29
SC 19
ST 12
EWS 9
Total 119

Your Exam Fee Isn’t Gone — Claim the Refund

This is the detail most candidates miss. After appearing in the CBT, the application fee is refunded: Rs. 400 for General, OBC and EWS candidates, and Rs. 250 for SC, ST, PwD, female and other eligible candidates. The refund is credited to the candidate’s bank account.

Two things to take away: first, appear in the CBT — the refund only applies after you sit the exam. Second, keep your bank account details updated, because the money goes back to the account you paid from. This is a genuine, official benefit — don’t leave it on the table.

⛔ No requests for date, city, shift or centre changes are being entertained. RRB does not accept change requests — if the centre is far or the shift is inconvenient, there is no official channel to swap it. Plan your travel around exactly what is printed on the admit card.

Exam Day — Documents and Rules

Carry Do NOT carry
Printed copy of the admit card Books, notes or loose papers
One original valid photo ID (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, Passport or Driving Licence) Mobile phones, smartwatches or other electronic devices
Passport-size photograph, preferably the same as in the application form Calculators, Bluetooth devices or earphones
Category or PwD certificate, if applicable Bags, wallets or purses
Blue or black ballpoint pen Any written material or item that can be used for unfair means

A transparent water bottle may be allowed at some centres — follow the instructions printed on your own admit card and the centre’s guidelines.

Common Mistakes Candidates Make Right Now

  • Downloading the night before the exam. If the portal is slow or your login fails, you lose sleep you need. Download it today.
  • Carrying only the city intimation slip. The slip is not an entry document. Print the admit card.
  • Ignoring the reporting time. The reporting time and gate closing time — not the exam start time — decide whether you get in.
  • Printing a blurry copy. If your photo or signature prints unclear, take a fresh printout. A doubtful photograph at the gate is trouble you don’t need.
  • Forgetting the refund. Appear in the CBT and your fee comes back — Rs. 400 for Gen/OBC/EWS, Rs. 250 for SC/ST/PwD/female candidates.
  • Preparing like it’s one exam. The CBT is followed by a CBAT aptitude test — your preparation shouldn’t end on 13 October.
