RRB ALP CBT-II Result 2026 Declared
The Railway Recruitment Board has declared the CBT-II result for Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) under CEN 01/2025 on 01 October 2026. The exam was held on 28 July 2026 for 10,970 ALP posts — one of the largest railway recruitments of the year — and the wait is finally over. Results are released as zone-wise PDFs, so read the section below carefully: you must check the result of the RRB zone you actually applied to.

Why the Wait Was This Long
Nearly two months passed between the exam and the result, and that is normal for an RRB paper of this size. With multiple shifts and over ten thousand posts on offer, the Board runs a normalisation process to level out difficulty differences across shifts before finalising scores. The answer key came out within a week of the exam (05 August), objections were considered, and only then did the final result and cutoff sheets get locked. If you are comparing this with smaller state-level results that come out in a fortnight — the scale here is completely different.
How to Check RRB ALP CBT-II Result 2026
The result comes as a downloadable PDF for each zone. Follow these steps:
- Go to the official website of the RRB zone you applied to (not just any RRB website).
- On the homepage, open the “Result” / “CEN Notifications” section.
- Click the link marked “ALP CBT-II Result & Cutoff 2026”.
- Download the result PDF and keep a printout.
- Search the PDF for your roll number or registration number — if it appears, you are shortlisted for the next stage.
Read this before you panic: the PDF lists roll numbers, not names. Use your roll number from the admit card to search (Ctrl+F on a computer, or the search option in your phone’s PDF reader). Searching by name will not work — that is the single most common reason people wrongly conclude they have not qualified.
Zone-Wise Result and Cutoff PDFs
RRB operates through 21 regional boards — Mumbai, Ranchi, Patna, Muzaffarpur, Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Jammu-Srinagar and others. Each board publishes its own result and cutoff PDF. A direct result PDF link is available for RRB Jammu-Srinagar; for every other zone, open that zone’s official RRB website and look under the results section. Bookmark your own zone’s website now — the next stage (CBAT) admit card will also be released there.
RRB ALP CBT-II Cutoff 2026
Alongside the result, each zone has released its category-wise cutoff — the minimum normalised score needed to move to CBAT. A few things worth knowing about how this cutoff works:
- Cutoffs are published per zone and per category (UR, EWS, OBC, SC, ST). Your zone’s cutoff is the only one that matters for you.
- Merely clearing the cutoff does not guarantee a final appointment — it only earns you a seat in the CBAT, and shortlisting for CBAT is typically done in multiples of the vacancies.
- Do not trust “expected cutoff” screenshots circulating on Telegram and WhatsApp groups; the only authentic numbers are in the PDF on your zone’s official website.
What Comes Next: Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
Qualifying CBT-II does not make you an Assistant Loco Pilot yet. The next stage is the Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) — and this stage is genuinely different from everything you have studied so far.
CBAT is a battery of short aptitude and psychomotor tests designed for safety-critical railway jobs: it measures things like sustained attention, reaction speed, perception of distance and speed, and memory — skills you cannot cram for the night before. RRB’s own guidance for these tests says that preparation should focus on being calm, alert and well-rested rather than rote practice. After CBAT comes document verification and the medical examination (ALP has strict vision and fitness standards), so keep your original certificates ready now instead of hunting for them later.
Important: the final merit is computed by combining CBT-II (Part A) and CBAT scores in the ratio prescribed in the CEN 01/2025 notification. Check the official notification for the exact ratio and the qualifying marks — do not go by coaching-institute summaries.
Mistakes That Cost Candidates Every Year
- Checking the wrong zone’s PDF. RRB zones publish separate lists. Your result exists only in the PDF of the zone where you applied.
- Trusting fake result links. Every year, lookalike websites and Telegram channels push phishing “check your result” links within hours of an RRB result. Use only rrbapply.gov.in or your zone’s official RRB website.
- Missing the CBAT window. The aptitude test admit card usually drops with short notice. Check your zone’s website regularly from this week onward — do not wait for a newspaper announcement.
- Not downloading the result PDF. Screenshots get lost and links expire. Download and save both the result PDF and the cutoff PDF today.
