KEA Female Supervisor Recruitment 2026: 141 Posts, Apply Online by 28 Nov
Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) has opened a short walk-in window for four temporary posts at its Radiation Medicine Centre (RMC) in Mumbai. There is no online form and no last date to apply online — you have to be physically present in Mumbai on 5 November 2026, and, crucially, you have to collect the application form between 12:00 noon and 12:30 pm. Turn up at 1 pm thinking the interview starts at 2 pm, and you will already be too late.
The four posts are split across three separate notices inside one official PDF: one Scientific Assistant/B (Chemistry), one Scientific Assistant/B (Biological Science), and two Technician/B (Animal House Attendant) posts. All four are locum/adhoc appointments — short-term, not permanent BARC jobs — so read the terms carefully before travelling to Mumbai.

Post-wise Vacancy, Qualification and Pay
| Post | Vacancies | Qualification | Pay per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Scientific Assistant/B (Chemistry) | 1 | B.Sc. (Chemistry) with minimum 60% marks, OR B.Sc. with Chemistry as one of the subjects with minimum 60% marks | Rs. 19,502 + D.A. (pre-revised) |
| Scientific Assistant/B (Biological Science) | 1 | B.Sc. in Biological Science with minimum 60% marks, plus one year of experience working in a BSL-3 lab (essential) | Rs. 19,502 + D.A. (pre-revised) |
| Technician/B (Animal House Attendant) | 2 | Minimum 60% in SSC or HSC in aggregate (with Science and Maths) + a trade certificate of one year duration | Rs. 11,730 + D.A. (pre-revised) |
The two Scientific Assistant/B posts look identical on the surface, but their experience conditions are completely different — and that is where most applicants will go wrong. For the Chemistry post, experience of working in a radiopharmacy lab and handling radioisotopes only gives you preference. For the Biological Science post, one year of BSL-3 lab experience is essential — without it, you do not meet the eligibility at all. For the Technician/B posts, some experience in an animal house facility is preferable but not mandatory. Check which of the three notices you actually fit before you queue up, because the forms and screening are post-specific.
The Real Deadline Is 12:30 pm, Not 2 pm
This is the single most important detail in the whole notice. The interview begins at 2:00 pm, but the day’s timetable is unforgiving:
12:00 noon – 12:30 pm: Application forms are handed out at the venue. No forms are given after 12:30 pm.
Before 12:45 pm: Your completed form, with xerox copies and photograph attached, must reach the office. No forms are accepted after 12:45 pm.
2:00 pm: Interviews begin — but only for candidates whose completed forms arrived before 12:45 pm.
In practice, this means you should aim to reach BARC Hospital, Anushaktinagar, well before noon. Mumbai traffic, security checks and finding Conference Room No. 1 behind the BARC Hospital Library all eat into that half-hour window, and the notice leaves no room for latecomers.
If Too Many Candidates Turn Up, There Is a Screening First
With only four posts, BARC has written a screening rule for a large turnout — and it is merit-based, so your marks matter even before the interview:
Scientific Assistant/B (Chemistry): If more than 15 candidates with the stated experience turn up, 15 are screened in, in this order — (a) experience in a radiopharmacy lab plus the highest B.Sc. percentage; (b) experience in a facility handling radioisotopes plus the highest B.Sc. percentage; (c) the highest B.Sc. percentage.
Scientific Assistant/B (Biological Science): If more than 15 candidates with the stated experience turn up, selection for interview is on the basis of the highest percentage in B.Sc. (Final) and work experience.
Technician/B (Animal House Attendant): If more than 10 candidates turn up, candidates are chosen on the basis of the highest percentage in SSC.
Carry your year-wise mark sheets, not just the degree certificate — the screening for the two Scientific Assistant posts runs on your B.Sc. percentage, and for the Technician post on your SSC percentage.
What the Job Actually Involves — and What It Does Not
Do not mistake these for regular, permanent BARC appointments. Every post is locum/adhoc: an appointment of not more than 89 days at a time, for a maximum of 2 terms. The pay quoted is also pre-revised, plus dearness allowance as admissible — it is modest by BARC’s regular standards (Rs. 19,502 for Scientific Assistant/B and Rs. 11,730 for Technician/B), and that is the honest picture before you spend money travelling to Mumbai.
The work itself is hands-on. The Chemistry Scientific Assistant will prepare radiopharmaceuticals under supervision, handle data entry and documentation of daily quality-control charts, look after quality control and quality assurance, and maintain inventory. The Technician/B (Animal House Attendant) looks after the animals day to day — feeding and watering, cleaning and autoclaving cages, bottles and racks, maintaining facility records, and helping during animal experiments, including restraining and handling animals for injections. This is a working animal-facility role, not a desk job. The Biological Science notice does not list duties in the same detail, so go by the notice itself for that post.
One more instruction from the notice deserves a clear mention: selected candidates must produce a medical certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner and a Police Verification Certificate. And for the Chemistry post, the rules do not allow pregnant women to work in the radiopharmacy lab.
What to Carry on 5 November
Original certificates of date of birth and educational qualification — for Scientific Assistant/B posts, Class-X, XII, B.Sc. year-wise mark sheets and degree/passing certificate; for Technician/B, Class-X, XII, trade certificate and experience documents if any.
One set of attested xerox copies of those certificates.
One passport-size photograph.
Attach the copies and photograph to the form and submit it before 12:45 pm. A form without its enclosures is not going to help you at 12:44 pm.
Who Should — and Should Not — Make the Trip
This walk-in suits you if you are a B.Sc. graduate (Chemistry or Biological Science, 60%+) or an SSC/HSC-plus-trade-certificate candidate who can be in Mumbai on a weekday morning, and you understand this is a short-term locum engagement. It is a genuine foot in the door at a Government of India research centre’s medical unit, and the radiopharmacy and BSL-3 experience carries weight for future openings.
It does not suit you if you are looking for a permanent BARC job, cannot reach Anushaktinagar before noon, or are applying for the Biological Science post without the one year of BSL-3 experience — that condition is essential, not preferred. Readers looking for other Mumbai-based government medical openings may also want to check Tata Memorial Centre’s Mumbai recruitment for comparison before deciding where to apply.
