Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) has released a second chance for Jail Prahari aspirants. On 27 October 2026, the Board published the final recommendation against non-joiners for the Jail Prahari (Warder) Recruitment 2024, along with revised cut off marks and two fresh merit lists. If your name was just below the cut off in the original final result of 5 May 2026, this is the list you need to check — several candidates have moved up because seats left vacant by selected candidates who did not join are now being filled in merit order.
This article explains what the non-joiner list actually means, how much the cut off has fallen, which of the two merit lists applies to you, and what happens next for the newly recommended candidates.
RSSB Jail Prahari Final Result 2026 — Quick Overview
| Detail | Information |
|---|---|
| Conducting body | Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) |
| Recruitment | Jail Prahari (Warder) Recruitment 2024 |
| Advertisement number | 17/2024 |
| Total posts | 968 (912 Non-Scheduled Area + 56 Scheduled Area) |
| Original final result | 5 May 2026 |
| Non-joiner final recommendation | 27 October 2026 |
| Documents released | Final Recommendation and Cut Off Marks, NTSP merit list, TSP merit list |
| Official website | rssb.rajasthan.gov.in |
What Is the Non-Joiner List?
After a final result, a few selected candidates do not join — they may have taken another job, failed document verification, or simply not reported. Those seats do not stay empty. RSSB goes back to the merit list and recommends the next candidates in line, in order of merit, against exactly those vacant seats. That is what this 27 October release is: an additional recommendation, separate from the 5 May 2026 final result.
Because these seats go to the next candidates down the merit order, the revised cut off marks are lower than the original final cut off in most categories. A drop of three to seven marks may look small on paper, but in a merit list of thousands of candidates, it is enough to bring a whole new group into selection.
How the Cut Off Changed Since 5 May 2026
The table below compares the original final cut off with the revised cut off for the Non-Scheduled Area (NTSP), General sub-category. Every category listed here has come down.
| Category (NTSP, General) | Cut Off — 5 May 2026 | Revised Cut Off — 27 Oct 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| General (UR) | 329.6664 | 325.5653 |
| General Female | 320.1091 | 312.8494 |
| General-EWS | 324.8474 | 322.0982 |
| SC | 317.7315 | 312.7220 |
| ST | 311.0336 | 305.8735 |
| OBC | 336.9414 | 334.2637 |
| MBC | 329.5003 | 326.2077 |
Two things stand out. First, the General Female cut off fell by more than seven marks (320.1091 to 312.8494) — the biggest drop in this table — which suggests a relatively larger number of women candidates did not join. Second, OBC remains the highest cut off category at 334.2637, still above the General (UR) mark, which is normal for this recruitment because OBC candidates compete at a very high level in Rajasthan exams.
NTSP vs TSP — Check the Right List
RSSB has published two separate merit lists, and checking the wrong one is the most common mistake candidates make with this result. The Non-Scheduled Area (NTSP) list covers 912 posts, while the Scheduled Area (TSP) list covers 56 posts. Your area is decided by your domicile and the area you applied under — it is not a choice you make after the result.
For the Scheduled Area, the revised cut off for General Female candidates is 228.1006. The full TSP revised cut off table is in the official PDF, so TSP candidates should read that document rather than relying on the NTSP figures. For comparison, the original TSP cut off marks of 5 May 2026 were: General 272.2856, General Female 263.4298, ST General 261.6994, ST Female 232.0765, General Widow 159.2731 and General Ex-Serviceman 140.0805.
Selection Journey So Far
| Stage | Date |
|---|---|
| Written examination | 12 April 2025 |
| Physical test (PST/PET) | 18 December 2025 to 1 January 2026 |
| Document verification | 23 February to 6 March 2026 |
| Original final result and cut off | 5 May 2026 |
| Non-joiner final recommendation and merit lists | 27 October 2026 |
Final selection follows three stages — written examination, physical test and document verification — with recommendation made in order of merit within each area and category.
How to Check Your Name in the Merit List
Open the official RSSB website, rssb.rajasthan.gov.in, and go to the Results section on the homepage. Look for the entries dated 27 October 2026 for Prahari 2024. Open the Final Recommendation and Cut Off Marks PDF to confirm your category cut off, then open the NTSP or TSP merit list that matches your area. Press Ctrl + F in the PDF and search your roll number. Download and save all three PDFs — you will need them again during joining.
What Happens Next for Selected Candidates
RSSB sends the list of recommended candidates to the Prisons Department, Rajasthan, which will issue appointment orders and joining instructions. Keep checking the RSSB and Prisons Department websites, along with your registered mobile number and email, for that notice. The recommendation is provisional — it depends on meeting all eligibility conditions and on verification of documents.
Documents to keep ready for joining: Class 10 marksheet (date of birth proof) and Class 12 or qualifying examination certificates; caste or category certificate (OBC-NCL, MBC, EWS, SC, ST) if applicable; Rajasthan bona fide resident certificate; widow, divorcee or ex-serviceman certificate if applicable; character certificate and medical fitness certificate; photo ID and passport-size photographs. Note that RSSB has not published an official post-result document checklist in this release, so this list is indicative — follow the instructions in your appointment order when it arrives.
Important Instructions
Download the PDFs only from the official RSSB website. Confirm which list — NTSP or TSP — applies to your area before celebrating or worrying. Compare your exact category and sub-category with the Final Recommendation and Cut Off Marks PDF, because a candidate can appear in one sub-category list and not another. Do not rely on messages or links from unofficial channels for appointment or joining information, and watch for the Prisons Department notice about appointment orders and joining dates.
