OIL Geologist Recruitment 2026: 3 Posts, Walk-in 26 Nov & 3 Dec
Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Limited (RCF Ltd), a Government of India Navratna company, has opened online applications for a single officer-level post — Assistant Officer (IPD) Compliance in E0 grade. This is not a mass recruitment and not a fresher drive. With just one vacancy, a 15-year experience condition and a skill test instead of a written exam, this notification is aimed squarely at experienced compliance professionals, preferably from the explosives or ammonium nitrate industry. Online registration starts today, 31 October 2026, at 8:00 am and closes on 16 November 2026 at 5:00 pm.

Vacancy Details: Just One Seat, and It Is Unreserved
There is exactly one vacancy, and it is in the Unreserved (UR) category. SC, ST, OBC (NCL) and EWS candidates are encouraged to apply by the notification, but there is no reserved seat in this advertisement — so a reserved-category candidate applying here is treated as a General candidate, with no relaxation in any criterion. That single detail changes the calculation for many applicants, so read it before paying the fee.
RCF also says the vacancy figure is tentative and may increase or decrease at its discretion, and a panel will be drawn up for unforeseen vacancies arising within one year of empanelment. The waitlist, if prepared, will be in the ratio of 1:2 — two waitlisted candidates for the one post — and will stay valid for one year.
Eligibility: The 15-Year Experience Gate Is the Real Filter
The degree requirement looks broad — a three-year regular, full-time graduate degree in any discipline from a UGC/AICTE-recognised university. The filter is what sits behind it:
- Marks: minimum 55% in the final year, or the aggregate of the last two semesters, of the graduation degree. Note carefully — this is not necessarily your overall degree aggregate. If your university awarded CGPA or OGPA, you must obtain the equivalent percentage from the university and mention it in the application, and produce the conversion norms (or proof that none exist) at the skill test.
- Experience: minimum 15 years of relevant post-qualification experience as on 01 August 2026. Training, internship and apprenticeship periods do not count. Preference goes to candidates with experience in the explosives industry and ammonium nitrate compliance.
- Age: upper age limit 46 years for the Unreserved category as on 01 August 2026. An additional 5-year concession applies to children or family members of victims of the 1984 riots. Other relaxations follow DPE guidelines.
- Higher qualification warning: a higher qualification earns no consequential benefit later in service, and no NOC will be given to a candidate pursuing a higher qualification at the time of joining.
What the Job Actually Involves
This is a compliance role in RCF’s IPD function, and the work is unusually specific. The officer ensures compliance with regulations laid down by PESO (Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation) and manages and coordinates the transportation of Ammonium Nitrate (Melt). Day to day, that means monitoring statutory and regulatory compliance under PESO guidelines, keeping compliance documentation accurate and complete, liaising with regulatory authorities, and ensuring prescribed safety standards and transportation norms are followed.
That is why the explosives-industry preference matters so much: a general compliance background ticks the eligibility box, but hands-on ammonium nitrate experience is what the role actually demands. Posting can be at any RCF unit (Trombay or Thal), area office anywhere in India, or project site, as decided by management — and the job may include shift operations.
Pay: How the Rs. 65,000 Approximate Gross Is Built Up
The E0 grade pay scale is Rs. 30,000 – Rs. 1,20,000. RCF states the minimum total monthly gross works out to approximately Rs. 65,000, made up of basic pay plus VDA (55.7%), perks (34%) and HRA (30% for Class A cities, applicable rates elsewhere). Initial pay is fixed at the lowest of the pay in the grade — and candidates joining from other PSUs or Central or State Government get no pay protection, a point worth knowing before resigning a current post.
Selection: No Written Exam — A 100-Mark Skill Test That Only Qualifies You
For E0 grade, selection is through a skill test alone. All eligible candidates are provisionally called, documents are verified before the test, and call letters come by SMS and/or email. The test carries 100 marks:
| Skill Test Attribute | Marks |
|---|---|
| Practical job knowledge and handling of the role as per desired skills | 70 |
| Safety awareness and computer knowledge | 20 |
| Communication skills | 10 |
| Total | 100 |
You must score at least 60 out of 100 to qualify — but qualifying is not selection. The test is of qualifying nature (candidates are judged Suitable or Unsuitable), and empanelment is limited to the number of vacancies plus the waitlist. If candidates tie on marks, merit is decided in this order: percentage in the qualifying examination, then highest percentage in the SSC examination, then date of birth (earlier-born treated as senior). Outstation candidates appearing for the skill test are reimbursed to-and-fro III-tier AC train or bus fare by the shortest route, on production of receipts.
Three Mistakes That Will Get Your Application Rejected
- Uploading documents later is not an option. All supporting documents must be uploaded at the time of online registration. No later opportunity to upload, change or correct documents is given, and applications without the required documents are rejected outright.
- Paying the fee before checking the 15-year rule. The Rs. 1,000 fee (plus bank charges and GST) is non-refundable under any circumstances. Verify the experience cut-off and the 55% final-year rule first — especially the rule that training and internship do not count toward the 15 years.
- Assuming the single seat carries reservation. It does not. With only a UR vacancy, reserved-category applicants get no relaxation here, so apply only if you meet the unrelaxed criteria.
Application Fee
| Category | Fee |
|---|---|
| General, OBC (NCL), EWS | Rs. 1,000 plus bank charges and applicable GST |
| SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, Female | No fee |
Payment is online only — internet banking or credit/debit card. Cash is not accepted, and the fee is refunded only if the advertisement itself is cancelled for administrative reasons.
How to Apply Online
- Go to www.rcfltd.com and open the HR – Recruitment section.
- Fill in age, date of birth, qualification, division and percentage of marks, year of passing, school/college/university and work experience. Use your full name exactly as it appears on your matriculation certificate.
- Upload your photograph (165 x 125 pixels, JPG/JPEG, 20 KB to 50 KB), signature (80 x 125 pixels, JPG/JPEG, 10 KB to 20 KB) and scanned supporting documents for age, qualification and experience.
- Keep bank details ready — account number, IFSC, MICR and PAN — as these are needed for travelling allowance reimbursement.
- Pay the fee online if applicable, check every detail (no changes are possible after submission), press Submit, note the Unique Application Number and print the form.
Physical applications are not accepted — only online applications through the RCF portal count.
Before You Apply: A Quick Self-Check
- Do you have 15 years of relevant post-qualification experience as on 01 August 2026, excluding training and internship?
- Is your final-year (or last-two-semester aggregate) percentage 55% or above, with conversion proof if you hold a CGPA?
- Are you 46 or under as on 01 August 2026 (UR), or covered by the applicable concession?
- Can you produce every supporting document at registration itself, with no correction window later?
If any answer is no, this single-seat notification is not the right one — and with no fee refund, that check is worth five minutes.
